The question is not whether Juntos por el Cambio (JvC) can win in 2023 but whether it can govern successfully.
The previous experience (2015-2019) precisely, it was not.
The reasons are known.
But you need to agree that it was.
If you don't accept this as what really happened, you ignore the real story, you live in self-deception.
Leadership capable of producing change is needed and what appears does not guarantee it.
The description of the candidates, male or female, says: "because he has the ability to manage", "because he has character", "because he does not shut up" or "because he always fights".
Nobody asks if he thinks or what he thinks.
Those who think have disappeared.
Or rather, those who think have decided not to participate.
The challenge for political Argentina in 2023 is to leave the daily debate to think about a longer-term strategy.
Question: Is the political leadership of JxC in a position to think and execute something more than the personal fight?
The doubt that they can do it sustains the lack of confidence of the majority of the people in that leadership.
All and all appear incessantly in the media.
But no one is thinking any further.
Journalists - who reflect reality - cannot do anything other than display their fights among themselves and with the government. The success of a government is achieved not only with good will and healthy enthusiasm.
Those who carry it out need a profile of what used to be called "Statesmen".
To reach the profile of those who cover the statues of the squares and walks, intelligence and professional training are needed.
In addition, today they must be trained in the new disciplines of the Technological Revolution.
That capacity and training is not abundant.
But JxC is going to need it if he wants to turn around the history of mediocrity that governs today.
It is not a matter of names but of values.
At this point, a new frustration would have no return, given the tremendous expectations of people who want to live differently.
One idea must dominate the picture: just winning the elections is not to be successful.
Overcoming the long political crisis we are experiencing requires a lot of imagination and determination.
The lack of confidence of the majorities in the political leaders - a worldwide phenomenon - assumes a special profile in the Argentine case: without exaggeration, nobody believes anyone.
It will not be easy to overcome this picture of disbelief and skepticism.
Why do electoral analyzes revolve around JxC and not the government?
Because Argentina needs a change and neither Cristina nor Massa can give it to them.
