A zoo manager in Mexico has been accused of killing four pygmy goats and serving them at a Christmas party dinner.
According to officials, serving the animals for food put the diners in danger as they are unfit for human consumption.
According to the investigation that was conducted, some of the animals in the local garden collection in the city of Chilpeningu in the south of the country were allegedly sold, traded or eaten on the orders of its director, Jose Ruben Nava.
The country's Ministry of Environment even claimed that the four animals were slaughtered and cooked on the grounds of the garden.

About three weeks ago, on January 12, Nava was replaced in his position as director of the zoo for another reason, following the death of a deer there.
These join other suspicions about him, according to which he even traded in the garden's zebra.
Mexico has long suffered from the problem of private citizens illegally purchasing exotic animals.
Thus, for years, drug dealers in the country have been known to collect lions, tigers and other wild animals that sometimes even escape and cause panic.
