INTERVIEW – After the requisition of a hotel in Antibes to house young migrants, the mayor castigates the failures of the State.

LE FIGARO.

- How

was the obligation to accommodate migrant minors (MNA) in a hotel in Antibes

announced to you?

Jean LEONETTI.

-

This measure concerning 28 young minors was presented to me on Tuesday evening for the following day.

We often talk about the mayor-prefect couple, but the mayor here found himself up against the wall, without consultation.

Once again, the State, failing in its sovereign and humanitarian missions, is unloading on the communities.

I immediately got in touch with Charles-Ange Ginésy, president of the departmental council in charge of childcare, without being responsible for the reception of migrants.

These minors are therefore housed in an apart-hotel located in a commercial area of Antibes, requisitioned because it is partly empty during the winter.

The department assumes the accompaniment.

I asked associations to agree with the community to support them.
