Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the news circulated about the visit of CIA Director William Burns to Moscow and his proposal to cede 20 percent of Ukrainian territory to Russia.
Peskov said in a statement today, according to RIA Novosti: “The news that talked about such a visit is misleading and incorrect, just as the director of the CIA did not make a secret visit to Moscow.”
Yesterday, the Swiss newspaper Neue Zurischer said, quoting German politicians: that last month, the American side offered Kyiv and Moscow a peace settlement plan to end the conflict, which included transferring about 20 percent of Ukraine's territory to Russia, which could be roughly equal to the Donbass region.
