Russia's ambassador to the Central African Republic, Alexander Bekantov, confirmed that the withdrawal of the French army from this country did not affect the security situation in it, adding that the local forces control the situation with the support of Russian trainers.
Sputnik quoted Bekantov as saying: “With regard to the experts’ comments on the issue of the impact of the French withdrawal, the assessment that we received states that this did not in any way affect the security situation,” explaining, “The government army of the Central African Republic, with the support of Russian trainers, is successfully carrying out operations.” To prevent the infiltration of militants from illegal armed groups into the country from abroad, which seek to seize residential areas and attack government agencies, military personnel and policemen.
Russian trainers in the republic train members of the government army, and they are in the country with a notification from the UN Security Council.
