Dana, who today bears the name of her homeland through Arab poetic platforms through her participation in the “Prince of Poets” competition in its tenth season in the United Arab Emirates, reached the semi-finals, after going through many stages, the first of which was sending the poetic text and its necessary attachments, as 1300 poets submitted to this stage And a poet from different Arab countries, so that 150 of them were chosen, and then they moved to the first round of interviews with the committee, in which she obtained the authorization of the text unanimously.

The next stage was the selection of Dana among only forty poets whose texts were approved to embark on a journey of improvisation, which was not an easy step. From the cameras and the preparation and directing staff, and to your right a timer ticks to warn you of the remaining time, and in front of you is a committee that is waiting for what you say to judge it.

Her strong attachment to poetry in the early stages of adolescence had the greatest impact on Dana’s choice of her academic field of study. Academically, studying Arabic literature, which is still, according to her expression, “a sanctuary for her soul and tranquility for her soul.” And the intensity of her passion for it was “the more she sailed in it and drank from its source, the more she thirsted for it.” This made her, after obtaining her university degree from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, to pursue a master's degree. She specializes in modern literary criticism, and today she is in the process of preparing her academic thesis in criticism.

In addition to eloquent poetry, Dana writes “spoken” colloquial poetry, which she describes as (the child of riotous poetry). She sees herself between these two types of poetry as a mother confused between two children, one of whom is more irritable than the other and more rebellious against breaking standards and barriers and more stubborn, but she loves him despite All of this is as much as his brother, according to her expression.

And about him, Dana said: “Yes, I write lyrical spoken poetry, as it represents for me a moment of mental luxury, and the pleasure that takes me out of the rigor and novelty of eloquent poetry to a more spacious space,” indicating that not long ago I started working on creating the content of the song, i.e. writing lyrics It is suitable to be sung in line with the taste of the modern era, and a number of songs have been composed for it.
