US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is postponing his visit to China which was due to begin on Friday February 3 after a Chinese spy balloon was spotted flying over the country, according to a US official.
The secretary of state did not want the situation to escalate by canceling his visit and for the incident to be the focus of his meetings with Chinese officials.
