The problem is that it's too noisy, too polluted a city.
I no longer wanted to stay in a small, expensive and dusty apartment and wait for hours on expensive transport.
Olivia therefore preferred the Scottish quality of life.
A secondary school French teacher, the Frenchwoman now lives in a village not far from St Andrews, one hour from Edinburgh.
And the Frenchwoman is not the only one to have made this choice of life.
Emmanuelle Gabarda, she arrived in Glasgow in August 2017.
“I moved directly to Scotland, after briefly considering London.
But life being too expensive there, I thought that Scotland and in particular Glasgow were a good compromise.

For Léa Salles, who has lived in Dundee since September 2020, it was studies that brought her to Scotland, student fees being free - at the time - for Europeans.
Marie had a crush on a trip 20 years ago.
So when the opportunity arose, mid-2018, she did not hesitate for a second to come and live in Edinburgh.
As for Virginie Pesci, she has lived in Scotland since 1998, in North Ayrshire in Irvine, after having landed a job as an assistant for a year in the country.
