The World Health Organization has recorded more than 85,000 infections and 89 deaths from monkeypox in the world, noting that most of the infections are in the United States.
And Tass news agency quoted the organization as saying in its latest report that “from the beginning of January last year until the end of last January, 85,449 cases of monkeypox and 89 deaths were recorded from 110 countries,” noting that 13 countries reported an increase in infection rates during the period. Last week, with the largest increase recorded in Mexico.
The organization added: Most of the injuries were recorded since the beginning of last year in the United States, where the number of cases reached 29,891 cases, followed by Brazil with 10,739 injuries, then Spain 7,518, indicating that the vast majority of cases, 96.6 percent, are men between the ages of Between 29 and 41 years old.
Monkeypox is a viral disease that can be passed from person to person through close contact with an infected person.
