Two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 3.3 on the Richter scale hit this morning several areas in western Iran.
According to the Iranian seismic observatories, the two tremors hit the areas of “Sarpul Dhahab” and “Qasr Shirin” west of Kermanshah, in the west of the country, noting that the two tremors did not cause any loss of life or property.
An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale also struck Diyala province, in eastern Iraq, on the border with Iran.
Al-Sumaria News website quoted the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring in Iraq as saying in a statement: Our seismic observatories recorded an earthquake near the Iraqi-Iranian border, northeast of Khanaqin district in Diyala, with a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale and was felt by the people of the province.
The authority indicated that no injuries or damages were recorded as a result of the tremor.
