A rental car from Abruzzo, in which the victims and the child transported to the hospital in Torrette (Ancona), and a lorry whose driver was unharmed collided near a reported construction site.
The collision took place at the height of km 300, according to Anas, at a "properly installed and signaled work site", shortly before 11 and the section between San Benedetto del Tronto and Pedaso is currently closed.

1km queue at the obligatory San Benedetto exit in the direction of Bologna.

The motorway is temporarily closed in both directions to facilitate rescue operations.
