A school teacher from a village in the Haut-Rhin was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday for touching ten of his students and for the rape of another, we learned from the Mulhouse prosecutor's office and from his lawyer.
Placed in police custody on Thursday, this 55-year-old teacher working in the small town of Oderen, north-west of Mulhouse, was brought on Saturday and indicted for alleged sexual assaults on ten girls aged 7 to 10. which he was responsible for in primary school, said the prosecution.

He was also indicted for the alleged rape of another of his students and for possession of child pornography images uploaded to prohibited platforms.

He recognizes the sexual assaults but categorically denies the accusation of rape
,” insisted his lawyer, Me Magali Spaety.
He was remanded in custody, prosecutors said.
According to Me Spaety, he was even placed in solitary confinement for his own safety.

About fifty
" child pornography films stored on computer media were found during a search of his home, his lawyer said.
The touching allegedly started as early as 2019, but the first complaint was not filed by a family until the start of the year, after a mother discovered her daughter's diary in which the latter indicated that her teacher had put his hand in his panties.
The mother had denounced the facts to the director of the establishment.
The information was then sent back to the Academy and a report was made to the Mulhouse prosecutor's office.
The investigation has been entrusted to the gendarmerie who will try to verify if there are no other potential victims.
The teacher, very involved in the local associative fabric, had in the past been director of the school of a neighboring town.
