The US tracks a balloon that China would have used for espionage 1:57
(CNN) --
Another airborne vehicle similar to China's alleged spy balloon seen hovering over the United States has been spotted in at least two Latin American countries this week.
There have been a number of eyewitness sightings of similar objects in Costa Rica and Colombia, which at this time, CNN was unable to confirm if they were Chinese balloons.
Colombian media reported sightings of a balloon flying some 21,300 meters above the airspace of the South American country, citing the Colombian military.
The Pentagon says there is another alleged Chinese spy balloon transiting Latin America
There have also been reports of a balloon flying over Costa Rica, which could be the same object.
Esteban Carranza, a Costa Rican lawyer, posted a video of the balloon on Twitter on Thursday saying: "The same type of balloon seen in the US was visible all day in the sky over Costa Rica."

Carranza confirmed to CNN that he filmed the white balloon flying over the Costa Rican capital, San José.
CNN geolocated the video in Escazú Village, a shopping center in San José.
Neither the Government of Colombia nor that of Costa Rica issued any confirmation or official statement so far regarding the sightings.
However, the issue has gone viral on social media in the region.
On Friday, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement to CNN: “We are seeing reports of a balloon transiting Latin America.
We now assess that it is another Chinese surveillance balloon” without specifying the exact location of the balloon.
