SGE fans and Darmstadt supporters apparently meet to fight

At 10:50 p.m., 250 Darmstadt fans traveled back from the away game in Sandhausen.

The police knew that the supporters wanted to meet at Bickenbach station.

When the police arrived, 80 to 100 masked people were found in the underpass of the station who wanted to flee.

More than 30 people were checked; according to the police, they had utensils such as leather gloves and bandages with them.

The people had been noticed in the past because of violent clashes in connection with football games.

After personal identification and police measures, they were sent off.

The vehicles were escorted towards Frankfurt.

As a precaution, the police were present at Darmstadt's main train station.

No further incidents worth mentioning occurred during the rest of the evening, officials said.
