Xinhua quoted the spokesman as saying in a statement in response to the United States' announcement of postponing Blinken's visit to China: A civilian air balloon used for research and mainly for meteorological purposes, and as a result of its influence on the westerly winds and its limited ability to self-direct, deviated from its planned path.
"It is a completely unexpected situation that resulted from force majeure and the facts are very clear," the spokesperson said, stressing that China has always strictly acted in line with international law, and respected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, adding, "China has no intention of violation and has never violated the territory." or the airspace of any sovereign country.
The Chinese official added: Some politicians and the media in the United States have exaggerated the matter to attack and discredit China, and the Chinese side resolutely opposes this.
