It was for years the model school of inclusion.

Since that night, this abandoned school has been home to migrants.

And the mayor of the borough, Philippe Goujon (LR), is furious.

Around 1:30 a.m. on the night of Friday to Saturday, after having broken open the entrance, nearly 150 migrants, including women and children, settled in this 3,000 m2 building located rue de Vouillé (15th century), a-t -we learned, this Saturday, February 4 in the morning, from concordant sources.

The immigrants, who seem to have come from Africa, particularly from Senegal and the Ivory Coast, are supported by the United Migrants association.

Volunteers from this same association had already helped the migrants to settle in October 2021 in a former social home belonging to the City of Paris, on the territory of the municipality of Thiais (Val-de-Marne).

“We must act with firmness and humanity”

According to our information, shortly after the intrusion last night, the police, who went to the scene, arrested one of the members of the association.

He was taken into custody for damage.

Contacted this Saturday morning, the mayor (LR) Philippe Goujon came back.

“I was called in the night by residents.

I immediately got in touch with the prefecture, the town hall and the police station to put an end to this occupation as quickly as possible.

We must act with firmness and humanity.

It is now up to the state to ensure that we can get out of this impasse.

Clearly, the elected official is asking for the expulsion of the occupants who “entered by force” into this school.

We do not know, for the time being, where exactly these 150 people lived before settling in this school, disused for several months.
