The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of 63 Russian soldiers from captivity in Ukraine in a prisoner exchange deal that took place thanks to Emirati efforts.
The ministry said in a statement today, which it posted on its website: “After a difficult negotiation process, 63 Russian soldiers returned from captivity, including members of a sensitive group who were in the territories under the Kyiv authorities,” noting that the deal took place thanks to Emirati efforts.
The ministry stated that all military personnel are now in Russia, receiving the necessary psychological and medical briefing, as well as giving them the possibility of contacting relatives.
This is the second prisoner exchange deal with the Kyiv authorities since the beginning of this year, as on the eighth of last month, 50 Russian fighters returned from the territories controlled by the Ukrainian regime.
