The mother of the newborn baby found dead Friday, in a bag, on a sidewalk in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis) has been identified, said the Bobigny prosecution and a police source.
It is a young woman aged 19 who resides in the city.
His current condition does not allow investigators to hear him at this stage, added this source.
The little girl was discovered by garbage collectors near a garbage can, a hundred meters from the town hall.
The body "was placed next to the garbage container, without clothes", told one of them, shocked, to the Parisian.
The baby still carried his umbilical cord.
It was not the surveillance cameras that made it possible to identify the person who had dropped off the child.
On the other hand, they captured the terror of a woman who was searching the garbage cans, and who opened the bag where the infant had been placed.
“She made a sign of the cross and, in shock, she left running”, explained a source close to the Parisian.
The bag could have been placed in the container inside the premises, escaping the video surveillance.
At this point, the circumstances of the death are not known.
It is not known whether the baby was born dead or alive.
The investigation was entrusted to the territorial security of Seine-Saint-Denis.
