The mother of the newborn baby found dead Friday in a bag on a sidewalk in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis) has been identified, the Bobigny prosecutor's office and a police source told AFP.
It is a young woman aged 19 who lives in the city where the discovery of the body of the infant took place, said the prosecution.
His current condition does not allow investigators to hear him at this stage, added this source.
The infant was discovered by garbage collectors near a trash can, a hundred meters from the town hall, a source close to the investigation said on Friday.
At this point, the circumstances of the death are not known.
The investigation was entrusted to the territorial security of Seine-Saint-Denis.
