The police are on the hunt for a man who is suspected of raping a 30-year-old woman after breaking into her home through a fence.

Her three children, less than six years old, were present in the house at the time of the act.

The police and forensic investigators collected findings at the scene, along with accompanying the woman to the medical center and professional questioning, with the aim of furthering the investigation and identifying the suspect.

In Gedra, the residents called to demonstrate in front of the head of the council's house in protest of the crime that has taken over the area.

The residents of the neighborhood where the incident happened shared the storm of emotions they are in.

"This is not a tragic one-off event. This is the result of lawlessness and a chain of events whose writing was on the wall," said a neighbor, who lives near the apartment where the incident happened.

"There is a huge amount of illegal residents here who do what they want. They break into houses non-stop, there were two cases where they tried to kidnap girls from school. There is a trend here. The writing was on the wall. But no one imagined a terrible rape like the 'mechanical orange.' Young mother, you can't hear this story and not be shocked. I live in a nearby building, the father of the children. Who can guarantee safety for me and my family? Who will protect us? We have filed hundreds of complaints with the police and the town. No one does anything. There is no security here. Only slogans ".

Following the incident, the commander of the central district, Superintendent Avi Biton, held a special situation assessment, together with the Shefala region command and the AHM officials. At the end of the situation assessment, the commissioner ordered that significant investigative personnel and all the technological means available to the police should be directed to bring about his arrest as soon as possible of the rape suspect.

"The Israel Police will leave no stone unturned and spare no means and manpower in order to arrest the suspect and complete the investigation as quickly as possible," said the Commissioner. ".

The police have a video of the suspect arriving at the building to carry out his plot and now an extensive hunt is underway by police forces for him. On News 13 in the program "Friday with Ayla Hasson" Eli Senior published a recording of the suspect arriving at the building and entering the apartment.

A preliminary examination of the case reveals that the woman was sleeping in her home , where her three small children were also sleeping. She woke up to a noise, then discovered the burglar inside the house, who attacked and raped her. She then called the police.

"We woke up to a shocking morning that shakes the entire community of Gedara and the entire State of Israel," said the head of the council, Yoel Gamaliel, following the incident.

"We are at the forefront of the war on crime and we have no response from the body entrusted with enforcing order and the law," he accused the police.

"The district commander is right to praise the commander of the station in Yavne and his subordinates, excellent people who do their work faithfully day and night. But at the same time, the police should not wage battles in the media in the face of authentic residents' outcry but wage a battle in the field against criminals. As we speak, the country is suffering From a lack of police officers in the field, resources and standards which lead to an inability to respond to operational requirements. Excellent commanders and police officers lacking resources and standards, this is not enough to act for the security of the residents."

"There cannot be a situation where the residents of the State of Israel, innocent citizens, will be left to fight with their bodies and souls against burglars, car thieves, illegal residents and violent criminals. Unfortunately, a resident of Gedara paid a heavy price with her body and soul, and with her the entire community of Gedara, we embark on the struggle and will not stop until the Israel Police change the perception of its operation in cities all over the country."
