According to the press release, the accident happened around 7:15 p.m.
A 77-year-old drove in the right lane and collided with the rear of a trailer truck driving in front of him near Neuötting (district of Altötting).
The driver was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the semitrailer (36) was not injured in the accident.
Property damage of around 6,500 euros was caused to both vehicles involved.
