Rebellious hair should be able to be tamed with straightening irons

All the best
If you have naturally curly or wavy hair, you can treat yourself to a new look in no time with a straightening iron.
But the heat isn't without risk: frequent straightening can damage hair.
Therefore, some manufacturers rely on high-tech, analyze the hair with sensors and adjust the temperature of the straightening iron accordingly.
This is then pompously called "MoistureProtect" or "OPTIhea technology" and is particularly good in marketing.
According to the testers from "AllesBeste", you shouldn't really rely on that.
It is better to adjust the temperature of the straightening iron to your own hair structure.
The rule of thumb: the thicker the hair, the higher the temperature can be.
But it should never be more than 180 degrees.
Basically, the lower the temperature, the better it is for the hair.
You should also prepare your hair before you straighten it: it should be dry and treated with a heat protectant so that it does not break or burn when you straighten it.
Follow-up treatment with an intensive treatment or argan oil is then recommended.
The straightening iron used can also make the difference between enjoying a hairstyle and frustration with fringes.
The device should have selectable temperature levels and, if possible, an anti-ionization function to protect the hair and at the same time help it to have more shine.
An automatic safety shutdown is also practically indispensable.
If you forget to turn it off, it can prevent a disaster in an emergency.
A long cable is also desirable if the straightening iron is not battery-powered, as is now the case with many models.
In the test by »AllesBeste«, straightening irons from the middle to upper price segment performed better on average than cheap models, but two inexpensive devices were also recommended.
The testers of the
Golden Curl FL 829
for 120 euros and the battery -powered
Dyson Coralle
for 400 euros praised their hair-friendly functions and the long-lasting straightening results.
The
ghd platinum+ professional styler
received a rating for its processing quality, ease of use and fast heating.
With the
Remington Pearl S9500
for 31 euros and the
Remington Proluxe S9100
for 47 euros, the experts also recommend two straightening irons for smaller budgets.
The testers praised the short warm-up time and selectable temperature levels of both devices.
The Proluxe S9100 was even able to secure the title of test winner.
The testers praised the good handling and the quick, clean results when straightening.
The only criticism was that the surface of the straightening iron, which is designed in light cream and rose gold tones, discolored slightly.
The experts primarily criticized the last-placed models in the test for unsatisfactory smoothing results, pain or pulling during use and the limited freedom of movement due to the power cable being too short.
Far behind in last place was the
Babyliss I-Pro 230 Steam steam straightener
: During the test, hot water ran out of the device – a risk of injury that should not be underestimated, according to the testers.
