(CNN) --

To say this has been a disappointing season for Liverpool would be an understatement.

Just because of the recent results, the club is in crisis.

Saturday's humiliating 3-0 loss to relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers was the team's third consecutive league away loss.

And after this defeat, which leaves Liverpool 10th in the league - 21 points behind leaders Arsenal - manager Jürgen Klopp refused to answer a question from a journalist at the post-match press conference.

  • Mo Salah 'suffers' due to Liverpool's inconsistent attack, says Jurgen Klopp

Asked by the journalist whether the team's poor start to games was a "mentality issue", Klopp replied: "It's very difficult to talk to you if I'm 100% honest with you. I'd prefer not to. You know why, for all that you've written. If anyone else wants to ask that question, then I'll answer it."

It is the first time since 2012 that Liverpool have lost three straight away games in the Premier League.

But the unwanted records have been piling up this season for a team that is 11 points behind Newcastle, who currently sit in the fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot.

Liverpool trailed 2-0 in the first 12 minutes at Molineux, while a 71st-minute Rubén Neves goal sealed a comprehensive victory for a team that sits 15th in the league.

Liverpool's defeat adds to those suffered in Brighton and Brentford.

In the last three away games, the team has conceded nine goals and has only scored one.

In all competitions this year, Liverpool have won once, against Wolves in the FA Cup. In fact, Liverpool have conceded more goals in the Premier League this season - 28 in 21 games - than in all of last season. .

"We caused the misfortune with the first 12 minutes," Klopp told reporters.

"In a match like this it is not allowed. They can criticize us and judge us and they are probably right because those 12 minutes are not allowed."

"That's very hard to take, I have to say."

Klopp added: "The team is not full of confidence, you can see it. We caused the problems ourselves. I can't always cover things up... I don't lose confidence in the guys, but I see where we need to improve. For today, no what I did was enough."
