Fifty young men and women from the Lebanese Arab Orient Choir performed this evening a choral evening entitled (Golden Evening) led by Maestro Ibrahim Al-Bimbashi on the opera stage at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

Since its establishment in Beirut in 2017, the choir has focused on professional performance and the preservation of heritage while introducing modernity to it with a new distribution. It also seeks to hold evenings in Arab opera houses and on international theaters, including the Opera Theater in Damascus.

With a professional performance, the choir, led by Maestro Al-Bimbashi, entertained the audience of Dar Al-Assad with songs mostly from the Syrian, Egyptian and Lebanese heritage. He added to patriotic and social songs and a number of folklore and spiritual pieces (O Messenger, he came to give us glad tidings) and (The Full Moon Has Come) to entertain the audience in the closing ceremony with (My Wish), (Our Date Is Your Land) and (The People of the Flag) and with joy in glory.

Maestro Al-Bimbashi, in a statement to SANA reporter, about his love and passion for coming to Syria and ascending the stage of the Opera Theater to present the best he can with the choir, explaining that the motive that made him aspire to visit Syria is the scientific and artistic culture of the Syrian people, in addition to that he had dreamed since the choir’s inception to present a special evening. On the oldest and finest theaters in Damascus.

He also saw that Damascus was the starting point for many Arab artists and intellectuals whose fame reached international theaters, pointing out their patience to overcome all the difficulties and harsh conditions that impeded their artistic career since 2017 in order to achieve their dream of bringing the choir's voices to the stage of Arab and international theaters.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Orient Choir started from university theaters in Beirut, the Jesuit University Theater, the American University, Teatro Theater and Medina, and held evenings in Tripoli and Sidon as well.
