In some of the most beloved cities across Europe, extremely cold temperatures are measured, when in Istanbul these even dropped below zero • In Britain, they warn of two days of unusual weather: "Are you among the population at risk? Minimize leaving the house"

February is known as one of the most sought-after months among travelers to Europe, thanks to the cold weather and the lack of holidays and special vacations.

Those who will arrive at many European destinations this week may experience first hand the first reason why this month has become popular, and this is due to an extreme cold wave that will sweep the continent, during which only 7 degrees will be measured in Budapest and Prague, 6 degrees in Berlin, minus one degree in Istanbul and more.

• Half a million free plane tickets to one of the most fascinating destinations in the world: this is how it will work

A striking example of this can be found in Great Britain, where an official warning was issued yesterday (Saturday) following the unusual weather expected in the kingdom in the coming days.

The alert referred to 48 hours in which it is expected to be extremely cold, from today at 18:00 (local time) until Tuesday at the same time.

In the country, it is recommended to reduce leaving the house and heated areas, especially for those who are at risk.

The weather meant that several flights from Israel to Turkey and back were canceled, and there is a chance that more flights will be canceled in the coming days - for example in Istanbul, where it is even snowing.

According to the forecast, the extreme weather in Europe is expected to last at least until Wednesday, and possibly even beyond that.
