For the brave only: have you tried a hamburger with dried fruit yet? | Israel today

We went out to taste the new hamburger collection released by the Burgerranch chain in honor of Tu Bashvet.

Burgerranch must be given credit for trying to maintain its Israeli identity and making sure to occasionally launch limited edition dishes with a local affinity.

Even if it is not always sensational culinary news, it cannot be denied that dishes such as: Chocopai with the rising dawn spread, Falafel Ranch, Pita Ranch and the blue hamburger bun for Independence Day, have aroused a certain pride in us over the years.

Today, on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Tashpag tribe, Burgerranch writes another chapter in its Israeli history, with the "10th brunch" series: three mini-hamburgers with the addition of dried fruit.

In one you will find dried apple slices, in two prunes and in the third cranberries With

in our hearts and an empty stomach (we left the shovel in Boidem, it's not pleasant to go into a restaurant with him), we went out to sample the new series and came back with insights, conclusions and recommendations.

Unlike the fruits, we will not dry you out: the surprising news - despite the initial skepticism,

the dishes are actually not bad.

On the other hand, they also will not call a representative from the Michelin guide to the Borgranch headquarters.

The truth is, it seems that they simply took the children's hamburger of the chain ("Ranchkid") and added the relevant dried fruits to it: two apple slices, three plums or a handful of cranberries, plus a sprinkling of thousand island sauce and some lettuce.

So clean and standard, without seasoning or special sauces.

Hamburger with prunes

The most successful sandwich of the three was the one with the prunes.

The fruit itself occupied a relatively large volume and spread over a significant part of the bun, so we felt it in almost every bite.

The sweetness and the soft and moist texture went well with the hamburger patty.

Hamburger with cranberries

The cranberries came in second and honorable place, but it's a shame there weren't enough of them in the tiny brunch we sampled.

When we were able to grab one or two in a bite, the bite was pretty good, but the rest of the burger was dry.

Hamburger with dried apples

The dried apple ranch, which intrigued us the most before the tasting, was rather disappointing - both because of the viscous and hard texture of the fruits and because of their relative bitterness.

Finally we pulled the apples out and ate the dish without them.

In this case, the apple fell very far from the ranch.

The bottom line: It is difficult to define the "Two Branch" series as necessary for any Israeli palate, but we do not dismiss it outright.

The plum and cranberry versions deserve some attention, holiday spirit and all.

You can skip the apples.

The "Two Brunch" series is offered in all Burgranch branches and in deliveries until February 7, at a price of NIS 15 per serving.
