He was completely beside himself and could hardly understand what was being said to him: On Saturday evening (February 4), an 18-year-old was driving on the A8 near Holzkirchen in a drug frenzy and promptly drove into an Audi.

In addition, the highway police stopped a completely overloaded trailer.

Holzkirchen

– A young novice driver apparently lost his sense of distance and speed on Saturday evening (February 4).

As reported by the highway police, the 18-year-old from Prien crashed his Toyota into a preceding Audi.

Luckily no one was injured in the collision.

The accident happened around 9:45 p.m.

Shortly before the Holzkirchen junction, a 25-year-old woman from Ingolstadt was driving her Audi in the direction of Munich.

She drove in the right lane at about 100 km/h.

The 18-year-old approached from behind in his Toyota.

Shortly before the junction, he drove into the rear of the Audi.

There was property damage totaling around 6,000 euros.

According to the police, when the accident was recorded, it quickly became clear why the novice driver must have reared up.

"He was completely beside himself and had difficulty following the simplest requests from the officers," says the press report from the highway police.

A rapid urine drug test was positive for THC/cannabis products.

A blood sample was then taken.

The 18-year-old had to hand in his recently acquired driver's license on the spot.

The novice driver can expect criminal proceedings for endangering road traffic and further measures from his driving license office.

Trailer overloaded, brakes not working

The Holzkirchen motorway police ended a dangerous transport on Friday (February 3) at around 1.30 p.m.

A patrol noticed a combination of a VW station wagon and a trailer loaded with structural steel on the A8 near Holzkirchen.

Experience has shown that steel is very heavy, so the trailer was checked at the Holzkirchen office.

According to the police, several violations came to light.

Not only was the trailer traveling with too much load, but the trailer itself was too heavy to be towed by the VW.

In addition, the steel was insufficiently secured.

Finally, it was determined that the overrun brake, which the trailer must have, was completely non-functional, as was the parking brake.

As a result, the trailer, which was heavier than the towing vehicle, would only have been slowed down by the towing vehicle's brakes when braking.

According to the police, the resulting longer braking distance, in combination with the insufficient securing of the load, posed a considerable danger to road traffic. The onward journey was therefore prevented until the load was transferred to a trailer with the correct brakes and adequate load securing.

The 51-year-old driver from the Munich area can expect a fine and a point in Flensburg.
