The assistant head of the Ports and Maritime Navigation Authority in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran, Ahmad Hashemi, announced the rescue of four sailors, after their ship caught fire west of the coast of Chabahar port.
Hashemi said in a statement to reporters: A cargo ship with a crew of eight sailors on board caught fire 80 miles from Chabahar port, and four crew members were rescued by a foreign ship in coordination with the Maritime Search and Rescue Center in the port.
He added: Four other members of the ship's crew are still missing, indicating that searches are underway for them.
