The lifeless body of Maël Briand, a seasonal worker, was discovered at the end of the morning this Sunday, February 5, according to France Bleu Savoie.
The gendarmes and the nautical brigade found the 23-year-old young man in a river in the town of Méribel.
The circumstances of his death are still unknown.
Originally from Rennes, Maël Briand worked as a seasonal worker in a restaurant in the Savoyard ski resort.
Since his disappearance, significant gendarmerie resources had been deployed to try to find him: helicopter, dog team... A call for witnesses was also broadcast.
For their part, the relatives of the young man had launched an appeal on social networks.

Maël Briand arrived in Méribel on January 12 before his disappearance.
A video surveillance camera filmed him around 7:45 a.m., near a roundabout with a snow shovel in his hands and wearing light clothing, unsuitable for the cold.
