The Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior announced that a number of roads in the governorates of Lattakia, Hama and Damascus countryside are impassable or passable with difficulty due to snowfall and accumulation of snow or ice formation.
In its bulletin this evening, the administration indicated the condition of the roads in those governorates as follows: Lattakia Governorate.. the Juba Burghal-Al-Ghab road is not passable due to the accumulation of snow, the Mukbah-Maqamat Bani Hashim road is not passable due to the accumulation of snow, the Slenfeh-Broadcasting Station road is passable with difficulty due to snowfall snow.
Hama Governorate.. The Jourin-Slenfah road is passable with difficulty due to the accumulation of snow, and the Shatha-Jubeh Burghal road is not passable due to the accumulation of snow.
Rif Dimashq Governorate.. Al-Sahel-Al-Mushrifah road is passable with difficulty due to the formation of ice, Asal Al-Ward-Rankous road is passable with difficulty due to the formation of ice, Asal Al-Ward road- Yabroud is passable with difficulty due to the formation of ice, Qatana-Kafruq road is passable with difficulty due to ice formation, Qatana road- Jandal Castle - Baqasim - Al-Raymah - Arna Passable with difficulty due to the formation of ice.
The Traffic Department advised drivers to use fog lights, check brakes and reduce speed at turns, slopes and road junctions, and drive carefully to avoid accidents, noting that it had allocated phone numbers 5422703-5411365 to inquire about road conditions.
