A man has sued his girlfriend of four for £1.9 million for "emotional trauma" after she refused to take the relationship in a more romantic direction. K. Cowishgan, an executive at a drone company, filed two lawsuits against Nora Tan after she rejected his advances. He claims her actions damaged his "perfect reputation" and caused him to lose at least five business partnerships.
Tan didn't back down, filing a counterclaim in which she seeks compensation for consulting sessions with security companies and for the equipment she had to install in her home to protect herself from him. Tan It installed a digital door peephole, alarm sensors and a smart video camera, for which it is seeking compensation of around £900 in total to cover the costs of the equipment and future advice.

The two met for the first time in 2016, and were friends, at least until they stopped seeing eye to eye on the boundaries of their relationship.
At this point, Tan claims they started arguing about their different opinions, it hurt the relationship, and as a result, she sought to reduce their social interactions.
Kaushigan accused Tan of defamatory behavior against him in June 2019 and December 2020, suggesting she felt harassed by his actions, and that she said harsh things about him in front of people he described as damaging his good reputation, causing him to become depressed.
Much of it, she said, was designed to cause her harassment and distress, and to force her to communicate with him.
Her lawyers claim in her defense that her behavior is a "fair dealing" with the situation.
In October 2020, she says she discovered Kaushigan showed up outside her home with a woman and refused to leave when she asked him to.
She also claims that his therapist contacted her so that she would agree to take part in 'healing' sessions with him.
Kaushigan's lawsuit was filed when Tan said she no longer wanted to speak to him, an action he said "forced him to escalate."
The first suit was kicked out by the judges, who recognized an "abuse of process" and refused to be part of his "calculated attempt to force an engagement" on Tan.
As mentioned, this did not stop Kaushigan's hands, and he is now suing Tan for S$3 million (£1.9 million) for a range of damages he claims she caused him, including trauma he claims he suffered. The hearing of the case is scheduled for February 9.
