Esther Feiner, who celebrated her 100th birthday, exactly on the 12th of Shevat, was born into a family that is engaged in agriculture and her father was the first man to introduce potatoes and avocados into the Israeli economy. She gathered her knowledge and passion for the subject from a young age. When she reached the age of 19, she She chose to go and study agronomy at a school in Nahalel not only because her father is involved in agriculture, but because she loved the field or in her own words, "We used to say it's in the blood, today we say it's in the gardens". After a few years, she expanded her knowledge and continued her studies at the University of Jerusalem, in the Faculty of Agriculture.



Esther's home, in the Tzahala shelter, "The Whisperer to the Pots", when asked about the origin of the name, she explained: "I feel the plants, I have something connected to nature, and such connections cannot be explained or proven" Esther continues and says that everyone says that the plants that are To her they are the most beautiful, "All my friends and also the residents of the place, always come to me when their plants wither and know that with me they will find the solution" she says and adds "I have a very special relationship with plants, I know exactly how to cure them and what to do so that they return to their green and healthy color To this day there hasn't been a single plant that I haven't been able to cure" and that's actually where the name "The Potted Whisperer" came from.

Because of Esther's great love for plants, she was given in sheltered housing an estate of joy, a garden plot where she nurtures the plants and even gave them names so that all passers-by would know which plants reside there.



In preparation for the 15th of this year, the 3rd graders at the "Nursery" school in north Tel Aviv teamed up with Esther Feiner and together with her they will cultivate the garden, plant plants and pots there and learn from her a little about the theory of agriculture.
