A woman decided to forgive (or take revenge?) her bully from high school, the one who pulled her braids, bullied her and teased her every day in high school - and to agree to his marriage proposal.

How did this happen you ask?

The happy couple first met in October 2016 at a friend's party and started hooking up on Snapchat, with Lauren eventually cutting ties with Lucas because she didn't want a boyfriend at the time (or just didn't want one).

In September 2017, Lauren Anslow, of Saratoga Springs, Utah, started high school and realized she and Lucas Olsen were hanging out in the same group of friends, and were back in a relationship she described as "awkward."

Apparently the feeling was mutual, because Olsen and his friends would tease Lauren and call her "Linda", insist that she looks like a character from "Bob's Burgers" (animated series), take pictures of her in the school hallways and post it on Snapchat as a prank.

"I hated him during that time" she says, but as in the stories, it changed from end to end after he witnessed a car accident that Lauren went through with her mother and sister right in front of his eyes, and even a little because of him.

"My sister thought it might be funny to stick my head out the window and shout his name," Lauren recalls, "and a second later we got into the car in front of us, and he saw everything."

Luckily no one was hurt in that accident, but Lucas took the opportunity to get back in touch with Lauren after she uploaded a photo of the crushed vehicle.

"It showed me that he cared, and helped me like him again," she recalls.

The two quickly became friends and later developed feelings for each other.

Olsen's friend convinced them to go on a double date, they started dating in February 2018 and Olsen proposed on top of a mountain in July 2022.

"He took me to the top of a mountain to see some fireworks, and then he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring."

They married in October 2022 - the same date they met six years earlier - with only their immediate family attending the ceremony.

"It's funny that I can call him my high school sweetheart and also my bully," Anslow said, explaining that she has forgiven Olsen for bullying her, but still teases him about it sometimes.

"I hated him then," Anslow shared.

"People say they would never forgive him, but I don't think you can base his personality on who he was for three months when he was 16," she concluded.

Olsen admits that, looking back, he finds the whole thing silly.

"When you're that young, you think things like that are funny. And of course me and my friends thought it was funny," he said. Mine did it. Peer pressure in a way," Olsen said. "I've always had feelings for Lauren, and I'm glad it finally came true."

"People tell me they would never have been able to marry their high school bully," Anslow said.

"But it was mostly teasing, and that's completely behind me."

Olsen chooses to emphasize the part of the high school sweetheart: "Marrying your high school sweetheart is the most beautiful thing I could dream of," added Olsen.

"Lauren is amazing and I couldn't ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with. I want a family with Lauren,
