Tartous, SANA- Twenty citizens were injured in Tartous governorate, and one building was destroyed, in addition to the collapse of parts of other houses in the city.

20 citizens were injured in Tartous governorate, and one building was destroyed, in addition to the collapse of parts of other houses in towns and villages in the countryside of the governorate, as a result of the earthquake that occurred at dawn today.

The Director of Readiness in Tartous Governorate, Yasser Dayoub, told SANA reporter that the injured were taken to Al-Basil Hospital in Tartous and Banias, where they were discharged after providing them with the necessary first aid.

Dayoub pointed out that the Readiness Directorate monitored the collapse of parts of dozens of old houses in the vicinity of Al-Qadmous Castle, and parts of balconies in some houses in the main market in the city of Banias, and the demolition of a two-storey building under construction in the village of Al-Qalou’ in the countryside of Banias.

Dayoub indicated that the Central Emergency Committee at the governorate level is in a continuous meeting to deal with all incidents, as the workshops of service institutions, in cooperation with the administrative units in Banias, Qadmous and Tartous, remove the damage and restore the situation to what it was.

According to Diop, the Tartous governorate sent five ambulances to help in Lattakia and four cars to Aleppo. Mechanisms were also sent to remove rubble from the roads in the village of Dweir al-Mashaikh in the Hama governorate, in addition to sending 2 “Bakr” to Lattakia to help remove the rubble.
