The Israel Police arrested Eliran Tzur, a 27-year-old resident of Beer Sheva, on suspicion of sexual offenses against a 12-year-old minor, via social networks.
The investigation of the case was opened after on February 4 (Saturday), the mother of the minor, about 12 years old, contacted the police's 100 hotline and complained that a stranger she did not know had called her daughter's cell phone and had a conversation of a sexual nature with her through the use of social networks.
As mentioned, the mother called the police who began investigating the incident, collected initial findings and opened an investigation at the family section at the Be'er Sheva station.
During the investigation, the identity of the suspect became known and yesterday (Sunday) police officers from the Beer Sheva station were waiting for him outside his house and he was arrested.
The suspect, Eliran Tzur, will be brought before the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva today for a hearing on suspicion of an indecent act on a minor under the age of 14, sexual harassment, and harassment using a cell phone and/or computer.
Corporal Ruslan Bistrov, the investigation and intelligence officer at the Beer Sheva police station: "We appeal to parents to report to the Israel Police any suspicious event on social media involving their children.
These are sophisticated suspects who, according to the suspicion, take advantage of the innocence and vulnerability of minors in order to satisfy their needs."
