The father of this blended family, seriously burned, was extracted from the house, located in the center of this town of 2,600 inhabitants, and transferred to hospital, added the gendarmerie and firefighters.
Reporting neighbors in the middle of the night
The children, five girls and two boys, and their parents were sleeping on the 2nd floor of this townhouse when the fire broke out, the gendarmerie said.
The firefighters were notified at 12:52 a.m. by a call from neighbors.
Four of the children were from a first union of the mother, said the gendarmerie.
The fire was extinguished in the early morning, according to the gendarmerie.
