The Governor of Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayuh, announced that the damages that befell the governorate as a result of the earthquake and aftershocks that hit the area were limited to minor cracks in some old buildings.
During the meeting of the Central Emergency Committee today, the governor stated that committees have been formed to study these cracks and assess the technical condition of the dams, and an emergency warehouse will be equipped to provide all humanitarian and relief aid, stressing the importance of the readiness of the various parties to secure supplies that contribute to immediate intervention in the event of any emergency.
The Director of Technical Services in Al-Hasakah, Eng. Hassoun Al-Nazal, indicated that the inspection work will affect the buildings affected by the cracks in order to count them and take appropriate measures, stressing the Directorate's readiness for any emergency.
For his part, the Assistant Director of Health in Hasakah, Dr. Malak Atallah, stated that the medical staff in all hospitals and health centers have been mobilized to receive any cases in the event of any emergency.
The Director of Al-Hasakah Electricity, Eng. Anwar Ukla, called on all service agencies to ensure the readiness of backup generators in the event of any emergency on the electrical tension networks, stressing that the emergency workshops are on alert to repair any emergency breakdowns.
