An Israeli staying in Turkey told this morning (Monday) about his feelings after the deadly earthquake that was felt throughout the country, killing hundreds of people in Turkey and Syria.

"The whole room was shaking," said Oded Thalmor, who arrived in Medina yesterday, in an interview with the "Seven to Nine" program on 103.

"Pieces of the walls were falling on the floor, the glass was broken, there was a storm outside, a gust of wind. Screaming, shouting, the emergency lighting didn't work. I ran to the stairwell which was also really destroyed. I waited for it to calm down a bit. I still ran back to the room, took my wallet, passport, A coat, because it's very cold here. After that, my partner was also in the room next to me, he got stuck there. His door, because the walls moved, got stuck there."

According to him, the noise lasted about a minute.

"Walls are falling, dust, all the windows are broken so there is also wind. I went up to the sixth floor again, I tried to kick in the door. They took him out after three hours, three hours he was stuck. He was cold and windy, really fine. Lots of collapsed buildings, lots of stones , parts of fallen buildings. Everything is full here like the debris of a building. Some of the roads have moved, so there are like waves like this. There are many rescue forces here."
