Mariano Pavone
had
confirmed his retirement
from the soccer fields, but over time he
reversed that decision
until
Quilmes
, the club he had been playing for in the First National,
announced his "return home"
.
The Brewer made a post on Twitter in which he posted a photo of the center forward with the caption: "
Mariano Pavone, new Quilmes player. Welcome back, Tank
."
The reaction of the fans at first was one of uncertainty
and many asked if the striker was not retired, if he had completed the preseason and even speculated what role he could have in the team.
The presentation of Pavone as a new "reinforcement"
was part of a campaign promoted by the club to attract new members
and within the framework of the
new communication project
that began in Quilmes, which is in charge of the
influencer Agustín Stella
, who took office in December and tries to enhance the digital profile of the institution.
The truth is that
Pavone's return is circumstantial, to retire inside a field and with the people of Quilmes in the stands
.
"I want to announce that on February 12 I will play again with the Quilmes shirt.
It will be my last official match
. I wait for you and become partners," said the Tank on his social networks.
The appointment is on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Centenario stadium, in what will be Quilmes' debut in the First National against Deportivo Riestra.
Pavone is expected to play the first nine minutes and then be replaced
so that he can receive a standing ovation from the fans.
October 2021, another historic moment for Pavone, when he reached 200 goals by scoring against Atlanta.
