Rescue teams continue their work to remove the rubble of buildings damaged by the earthquake that struck Syria and search for survivors. The work of these teams has so far resulted in finding 232 deaths, and removing 696 injured people, in an indefinite toll.

The rescue teams include firefighting, civil defense and ambulance systems, and workshops from various institutions and government agencies in the governorate, which received support from several governorates.

Lattakia governorate was informed of the collapse of 102 building blocks and houses in the cities of Lattakia and Jableh, and the towns of Bustan al-Basha, Hmeimim, al-Asaliyah, Qummin, Kalakho, Rabia, Zama, al-Basit, Ghaniri, Siano, Karm al-Masara, al-Safraqiya, al-Hanadi, Habibet, Wata al-Khan, al-Sanawbar, Ain al-Tineh, Fadio, Maysalun and al-Qatariyya.

As part of the emergency response plan for the needs of citizens after the repercussions of the earthquake, which was developed by the governorate, 11 shelter centers were set up to serve families, including the Al-Basil Center for Training and Rehabilitation, the Blue Beach Hotel, the Syrian Trust Centers for Development in Sheikh Daher and Al-Awaina, Social Affairs in Jableh, Cinema Jableh, Center Abused women in Al-Shir, the Hotel Institute near the Le Meridian, the bakery building in Halloum Square, the Sports City, the officers' chalets, and the Nakheel chalets, in addition to hotels (Harun, Rivera, Al-Samman, Miramar, Zenobia, and Al-Qasr).

The Governor of Lattakia, Engineer Amer Ismail Hilal, inspected a number of sites affected by the earthquake in the province, and the procedures followed in the operations of removing rubble and attempts to search for survivors and recover the victims. With it, it provides medicines, medical supplies, and response procedures to provide the hospital with the required needs.

After the earthquake, there were also efforts by large groups of civil society and humanitarian associations that were on the ground to provide support in removing the rubble, aiding the injured, and securing some basic needs.

The bodies affiliated to the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, through its directorate, and the Syrian Trade Corporation, are working to provide foodstuffs to be distributed to the affected families for free, while coordination is taking place with civil and charitable associations to organize their community efforts in this regard.
