The Spanish Football League announced Monday the opening of an investigation after new racist remarks towards Real Madrid striker Vinicius during the lost league match (1-0) in Mallorca on Sunday.

On images broadcast by the Spanish channel DAZN, we can hear at least one spectator calling the Brazilian a “
monkey
”.
"
Once again, intolerable racist insults have been uttered against Real Madrid player Vinicius,
" the league said in a statement.
The latter "
is working with the host club to identify those responsible in order to take the appropriate legal measures
", she added.
The 22-year-old Brazilian international striker has been the target of several racist incidents in recent months which have been the subject of legal investigations.
At the end of January, a model wearing his jersey was hanged from a bridge in Madrid before the derby against Atlético in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
After the match in Valladolid, Vinicius had accused the League of “
doing nothing
” against racism in fooball
Last week, Spain's Commission Against Violence in Sport announced that Valladolid fans would be punished for hurling racist slurs at the player during a Championship game in late December.
And in September, some Atlético fans were filmed singing racist lyrics hostile to Vinicius ahead of the league game between the two teams.
The investigation carried out by the police at the time did not identify the authors of these racist songs.
After the game in Valladolid, Vinicius accused the League of "
doing nothing
" against racism in fooball.
In Mallorca, Vinicius was the victim of ten fouls and he is the player to have suffered the most fouls in the five major European championships.
"
I think that everything that happens is not the fault of + Vini +,
" said Real coach Carlo Ancelotti on Monday.
“
+Vini+ just wants to play football, and beyond that there is a provocative atmosphere.
They foul on him, here's what's going on
," he explained, referring to the tension around the Brazilian during the game, before the insults.
