Foreign ministers of a number of countries express to Al-Miqdad their condolences and solidarity with the Syrian people

Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, today received a number of phone calls from his foreign minister counterparts, in which they expressed their condolences, warm sympathy and deep solidarity with the Syrian people and the families of the victims and those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria at dawn today.

Minister Miqdad received a call from Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which Minister Abdollahian conveyed Iran's condolences to the Syrian leadership, government and people, stressing that Iran is preparing the necessary aid to be sent to Syria to face the repercussions of this earthquake.

Al-Miqdad also received a call from Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, during which Minister Shoukry conveyed the condolences of Egypt and its leadership and its solidarity with Syria in this painful affliction, referring to the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to send the humanitarian and medical aid that Syria needs as soon as possible.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also received a phone call from Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, during which he expressed the deep sorrow of the Jordanian leadership, government and people for this painful calamity that befell Syria, stressing Jordan's solidarity with Syria to overcome the repercussions of this earthquake.

Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, the Bahraini Foreign Minister, also made a phone call with Minister Al-Miqdad, during which he conveyed the condolences of His Majesty the King and the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the condolences of the general people of Bahrain to the Syrian leadership, government and people for the earthquake victims and those affected, stressing Bahrain's support for Syria in this great affliction.

Abdullah Bou Habib, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Lebanese Republic, also called, conveying his condolences to the families of the victims and his wishes for recovery for the injured, and for Syria to enjoy security and stability.

Minister Al-Miqdad also received a letter from Subramaniam Jaishankar, Indian Foreign Minister, in which he expressed his sadness at the devastation left by the earthquake, indicating that he had directed his team to consider all forms of assistance that India would provide to Syria, wishing all the best for the Syrian people.

In his response to these contacts, Minister Mekdad expressed the gratitude of the Syrian leadership and people for all the positions that express the solidarity of the Arab countries, Iran and India with the Syrian Arab people in facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
