The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the formation of a crisis cell and the work of an air bridge to transport humanitarian aid to Syria after the devastating earthquake that hit it at dawn today.
Al-Sumaria website quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that “under the direct direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, a crisis cell was formed headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein, and an urgent air bridge was established to transport medical aid and foodstuffs to Syria in coordination with the Red Crescent.” Indicating that a convoy to transport fuel will go to Syria.
The statement added: The Prime Minister directed the transfer of logistical aid urgently to the brothers in Syria, noting that this aid comes to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people following the devastating earthquake that struck Syria.
