In the video: Netanyahu: I am against irresponsible incitement with the backing of the opposition leaders (Walla system!)
Former minister Natan Sharansky today (Monday) called on the coalition and the opposition to accept President Yitzhak Herzog's proposal and come to talks about the legal revolution promoted by the government, and even criticized it.
"It is necessary to start discussing specific sections of the reform proposal in the hope that the dialogue will finally begin," Sharansky wrote.
"Here is my humble contribution to the discussions - as far as I'm concerned, in all these important reform proposals, the most problematic point is the section of the increase by 61 votes."
"Override clause with a majority of 61 - absurd".

"Who and how will protect human rights? The chants of 'we were elected, we will protect' are demagoguery," he added.
"Democracy is two things together - majority rule and human rights cannot be canceled by any majority. The Knesset provides majority rule, the court provides protection for human rights. It is easy to imagine what political polarization in society could lead to if the parties were responsible for the protection of human rights." .
"It is important for the Knesset to have the last word in political decisions. And for the court in decisions related to human rights," claimed Sharansky.
"If we accept this principle, the disputes will no longer be about what the majority should be for the victory, but about which issues and who is the victory."

The legal revolution promoted by the government includes extensive changes in the judicial system, including changing the composition of the committee for the appointment of judges so that it is controlled by the coalition, the abolition of the reason of reasonableness and the enactment of a ruling overriding the High Court by a majority of 61 members of the Knesset.
