Land Rover is starting to market two new versions of the Defender family in Israel: the Defender 130 with 8 seats and the Defender plug-in hybrid with an electric range of 43 km

The Mizrah company, importer of Land Rover to Israel, is currently expanding the local range of Land Rover Defender versions with two new and interesting versions.

Another version is an elongated version for 8 passengers, while the second version is the familiar 5-door version with a plug-in hybrid drive unit.

Defender 130 was the name of the elongated version of the Land Rover Defender for many years, with the number indicating the length of the wheelbase in inches and it was usually in a pickup body with an open box at the back.

In its modern incarnation, the Defender 130 comes only in a closed version, with the same wheelbase as the Defender 110 (302 cm).

An addition of 34 cm in the rear of this version allows for the installation of a third row of seats suitable for 8 adults (instead of 2 in the Defender 110), and still leaves a respectable space for luggage with a volume of 396 liters.

The Land Rover Defender 130 is coming to Israel with a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers 250 hp, an eight-speed automatic transmission and an off-road package that includes a power transmission and adjustable air suspension.

The price of this version is NIS 622,000 before extras.

Alongside the elongated Defender, a plug-in hybrid version, offered in a 5-door body configuration (Defender 110), lands two years after its introduction.

The drive unit in the plug-in version, which is also known from other plug-in hybrid versions of Land Rover, combines a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine that delivers 300 hp and an electric motor that delivers 142 hp, with a total combined power of 404 hp.

A battery with a capacity of 19.6 kW/hour should provide a modest electric driving range of 43 km, when it can be charged in half an hour at a fast charging station or about two and a half hours at a home charging station.

The hybrid version accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds even though it is about 200 kg heavier than the equivalent gasoline version and records an average fuel consumption of 25 km per liter.

However, this version has to give up the third row of seats due to the space required by the battery.

The price of the Land Rover Defender Plug-in is NIS 640,000, when it comes in the SE trim level that includes full terrain damage of an active differential, air suspension and power transmission along with 20 inch rims with combat A/T tires.
