Members of the League of Social Democracy attended the demonstration
Three members of the League of Social Democracy came to the scene and pulled up a banner to demonstrate. Member Chen Baoying expressed that she did not understand why the police pushed them to the demonstration area, describing that many rights have been compromised, like being in a "birdcage".
She pointed out that the purpose of today's demonstration is to express "innocence in the primary election and shameful political suppression" on the first day of the trial of the 47 people.
She went on to say that the primary election only strives for the most seats for people with the same ideas, and there are 600,000 citizens participating in the primary election, thinking that there is public support, and asking "what is the crime?"
She also expressed that she does not understand why choosing to join the parliament by peaceful means would be regarded as a violent means.
She mentioned that she did not understand why the defendants could be remanded for two years without bail. She believed that two years was a heavy physical and mental torture for them and demanded "the release of all political prisoners."

In addition, several foreign consulates were present, including consulates from France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, and Sweden; consulates from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Ireland will also attend the court hearing in the afternoon.
