Barkhat Abu Esa, a 22-year-old Bedouin from the south, is the suspect in the brutal rape of a 30-year-old resident of Gedera in her home - this was allowed to be published today (Monday).

Yesterday, the suspect's detention was extended by nine days.

At the hearing, the police representative said that the suspect threatened the woman with a knife and told her that if she screamed he would hurt her.

"This case damaged the sense of security of the residents of an entire city," the police representative told the judge.

However, Abu Asa denies what is attributed to him.

According to the tenants, the suspect worked as a laborer in one of the nearby buildings, and watched from there.

They also said that he tried to open the door of the building and failed.

After that he climbed on the roof of a courtyard of a house, went up to the balcony on the first floor, took a chair and from there went up to the second floor.

"The tenants are under pressure, they brought people to install more cameras and also someone to strengthen the locks on the balconies and the front doors," said one of the neighbors.

"There were cameras, but we realized that it might not be enough. We are trying to regain our security."

Yesterday he was arrested in the territories of the Palestinian Authority, where he fled after the incident.

At the same time, six other men were arrested, members of one family from the Bedouin diaspora who work in the fence.

According to the suspicion, at 3:00 in the morning between Thursday and Friday, Abu Essa broke into the apartment and shortly after tied the woman in her room and raped her, when at the time of the act her three children were at home - less than six years old.

Last night, the woman who was raped responded for the first time to the difficult event.

In a message she sent in the WhatsApp group with her neighbors, the 30-year-old wrote: "I just got my phone back from the police. I just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you, thank you very much from the bottom of my soul. Thanks to you, it reached the media and they caught it. Thanks to you, I have the strength to deal with the case, You're The Best".

The brutal rape she went through shocked the neighbors in the building.

Her friend told yesterday in a conversation with Walla!

Because the woman moved into the building only about a month ago, and after the incident went to her parents.

"She is very traumatized and is trying to recover, she and the children are undergoing psychological treatment."

According to her, her little son was the one who freed her from the cello tape the suspect used to tie her up."
