Russian Assistant Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov announced that the ministry is ready to send medical specialists to Syria, to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake that struck it at dawn today, if requested.
"We are certainly ready to send specialists to help the victims, if there are requests in this regard," Kuznetsov said in a statement to Sputnik.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had affirmed, in a telegram of condolences to President Bashar al-Assad, on the victims of the earthquake, his country's readiness to help in facing the repercussions of the disaster.
