Next Sunday (12th) will be the annual Standard Chartered Marathon event. Many people are making final preparations for participating in the event, hoping to have the best performance in the race.
However, there are regrettable news from time to time in the marathon, so more than 50 doctors and nurses participating in the medical marathon spontaneously organized "medical care for anyone" to provide medical assistance for emergencies in the event, and to run for the heart stop. Hands give first aid.
One of the members, Xiao Yuezhong, who has more than 20 years of running experience and a specialist in the emergency department, said that the relevant plan will be launched in 2019. At the beginning of its establishment, it was because of heart attacks and other unhappy events that occurred in long-distance running activities from time to time. Some doctors who share the same philosophy participated in the plan.
He also shared that he once participated in a Kezhiyuan running competition and saw someone convulsing all over his body. He stepped forward and found that his heart stopped, so he immediately gave first aid to him and was finally rescued successfully.
Another member, Xian Weizheng, a specialist in the intensive care department, added that many people who have suffered a heart attack can be rescued after entering the emergency room and the intensive care unit because someone has performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for them, so they hope to promote "anyone" The concept, even if you don’t have any life-saving equipment in hand, you can still help in a critical situation, “If you can’t meet the standard to reach 100 points, 50 points are actually good.”
The doctors and nurses participating in the project include many doctors, nurses and Chinese medicine practitioners, and many of them are medical students.
Although medical student Li Ziying did not participate this time, there is a plan to help find medical students to participate, including Liang Yikeng and Yung Yurou, medical students from the University of Hong Kong who participated in the 10-kilometer challenge for the first time.
Liang Yikeng said that the time for first aid is often the most important, so he hopes that participating in the plan can help those in need one step closer than the first aid station, "I can do some things first so that they can receive treatment in the best condition."
Rong Yurou also pointed out that, as the first time to participate in the marathon, becoming a "medical care for anyone" can add meaning to this competition, and can also complement the medical first aid station of the conference. "We are all runners. Everything can be rescued immediately." In addition to Western medicine, Chinese medicine doctor Hu Zizhao also participated in it.
He said that this is the second time for him to participate in the marathon, and this time he wants to participate in the "Healing Anyone" project because he hopes to extend the knowledge he has learned to his interests.
Members of "Care for Anyone" will wear normal running clothes on the day of the marathon, with a bib number printed with "Care for Anyone" on the back for identification.
When asked if he would plan to add life-saving equipment for first aid in the future, Xiao Yuezhong also pointed out that he has seen similar organizations in places such as Taiwan and Japan, such as doctor runners and automatic external defibrillator (AED) runners, It is also hoped that life-saving equipment can be added in the future.
