The District Court in Haifa today (Monday) approved the plea agreement against Nasser Hariri, one of the heads of the Hariri crime family, according to which he will be convicted of extortion by threats and conspiracy, and will serve only one and a half years in prison.
This is one of Lahav 433's flagship cases, which ends with a faint hum.
The amended indictment to which Hariri admitted, who also received a suspended sentence and a fine, indicates that Hariri and other people blackmailed citizens who won tenders for land from the Israel Lands Authority.
This is because, according to the "forgiveness" agreement between the Hariri family and another family, it was determined that the area in question in Taibe will be assigned to her.
According to the indictment, Hariri blackmailed the winners of the tender in order to expropriate the rights to the lots, and some of them were even required to pay him and his family money.
This, among other things, through the use of the last name of the criminal organization.

The police estimate recently that a series of murders have occurred in the past six months, against the background of the vacuum left by the arrest of Hariri, whom the police consider to be one of the most active leaders of the crime organization in the center and north.

Hariri was arrested in May of this year on suspicion of serious crimes of extortion by threats and money laundering of tens of millions of shekels, since then he has been in custody.
The verdict given today is for another case.
